REVIEW

1.    God’s eternal will for all creation is to destroy Satan’s rulership and bring everything, not just humans, back under His wonderful rulership, a total reconciliation; this means everything from angels to dirt – forever (Colossians 1:19–20). (God’s LIGHT has broken through Satan’s darkness.)

2.    God’s will for all humanity is to be the focal point in the conflict and destruction of Satan’s rulership (Genesis 3:15). (God’s LIGHT now shines forth from this earth to all creation.)

3.    God’s eternal will for every Christian is to be an Active Agent in the destruction of Satan’s rulership over us by standing firm in faith – learning how to live under God’s rulership and preparing for positions of obedient, eternal rulership. (Romans 16:20; 1 Peter 5:8–9) (We can now live and rejoice in God’s LIGHT.)

INTRODUCTION

Lessons 4 and 5 are inseparable and must be studied together. The two questions answered here are: What is God’s present, specific will for me? How do I find God’s present, specific will for me? This lesson moves from an eternal view to a present view

POINT
wE don’t have to look for God’s specific will for our lives, we only have to be concerned with living our daily lives by godly faith.

PURPOSE
To create a relaxed attitude about finding God’s specific will which will enable us to enjoy our daily lives with God in the vocation we so desire.

VERSE
As he was traveling, it happened that he was approaching Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him; and he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” And He said, “I am Jesus whom you are persecuting, but get up and enter the city, and it will be told you what you must do.” (Act 9:3-6)

STUDY

WHAT IS GOD’S SPECIFIC WILL FOR ME, AND HOW DO I FIND IT?
If God has a specific will for you, then finding it becomes of universal and eternal importance. Let’s examine those who found it and their methodology for finding it.

First let’s look at Adam: In Genesis 1:27–30 God told him exactly what He wanted him to do, keep the garden and reproduce. Next Noah, in Genesis 6:12–14: God told him to build a boat. Then Abram in Genesis 12:1–3: God told him to go live in a land that God was going to give him. And Moses in Exodus 3:1–2: God told him from a burning bush to go get His people out of Egypt. One that I love Jonah in Jonah 1:1f: God told him, while he was out of fellowship with God, to go witness to Nineveh but Jonah being out of fellowship didn’t even want to go! Next comes John the Baptist in Luke 1:11–20: God told his parents and sent the Holy Spirit to him – while he was still in the womb! And the last one and the one that I love the most is Paul in Acts 9:1–6: God told him, while he was on his way to kill Christians!

The single activity which people of God have always used to find God’s specific will for them individually is – NOTHING!

As a Christian the only thing we have to be concerned with is living our daily lives by godly faith. If God has a specific will for you that goes beyond godly faith He will reveal it to you when He is ready; no matter if you are herding sheep or killing Christians. This has been God’s method since He created humans.

The important issue is to live your daily life by godly faith.

SUMMARY

If God has a specific will for you, beyond living by godly faith, He will reveal it to you when He is ready – you don’t have to go looking for it! (God will shine His specific LIGHT on you when He is ready.)
