God’s Eternal Will for All Christians

REVIEW

1. God’s eternal will for all creation is to destroy Satan’s rulership and bring everything, not just humans, back under His wonderful rulership, a total reconciliation; this means everything from angels to dirt – forever (Colossians 1:19–20). (God’s LIGHT has broken through Satan’s darkness.)

2. God’s will for all humanity is to be the focal point in the conflict of Satan’s rulership (Genesis 3:15). (God’s LIGHT now shines on this earth.)

INTRODUCTION

POINT
God is calling His people to grow in godliness in an ungodly world.

PURPOSE
To change our thinking about success, prosperity, and goals.

VERSES
The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. (Romans 16:20)

Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18)

STUDY

THE CRUSHING BEGINS
Christ became a human to attack the works of Satan:
. . . The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. (1 John 3:8)

The first work Christ accomplished after His baptism was to go toe to toe with Satan and personally defeat Satan’s attempt to rule Him. Throughout Christ’s entire life and death He defeated Satan’s rulership. The end result of His work is that God now saves us from Satan’s domain and places us in His Son’s kingdom under His rulership:
For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son (Colossians 1:13)

THE CRUSHING CONTINUES
The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. (Romans 16:20)

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)

Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8)

We Are To Follow God Using His Method of Biblical Faith:

Anything that is not done in faith is sin. (Romans 14:23 GWN)

Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. (Ephesians 6:13)

But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. (1 Peter 5:9)

As We Live By Biblical Faith We Grow In Christ’s Character:

But practicing the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Christ, who is the head. (Ephesians 4:15 NET)

and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him– (Colossians 3:10)

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; (Ephesians 5:1)

THE CRUSHING ENDS
As Christians, Christ lives in us and we are to be like Christ—crushing Satan’s rulership in our personal lives. By Biblical Faith we actively glorify God, not Satan (Isaiah 43:7; Joshua 24:15; James 4:7). And by crushing Satan’s rulership in our personal daily lives we will receive eternal rewards:

If we endure, we will also reign with Him . . . (2 Timothy 2:12; cf Hebrews 11:35-40)

And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever. (Revelation 22:5)

Our future success and prosperity does not depend on our family, ministry, work, or any improvement we might bring to the physical world it depends on our ability to destroy Satan’s rulership in our personal lives and glorify God. With this success comes future rewards—eternal rulership with God (1 Corinthians 3:12–15; Revelation 22:5).

SUMMARY

God’s will for every Christian is to be an Active Agent living by Biblical Faith and destroying of Satan’s rulership. Therefore we are now learning how to live under God’s rulership and prepare for positions of eternal rulership. Present training for future Reigning! (God’s LIGHT is now shinning forth from this earth.)
